Kids with cancer society
I had the opportunity to work at the Kids With Cancer Society in the summer of 2018. As part of my role, I helped organize the annual Camp Beat It, a weekend-long summer camp for kids with cancer and their families. The camp is a place for families to have an exorbitant amount of fun as well as connect with other families going through the same things. Games and activities are inclusive to all children of all abilities and there is such a strong sense of community and support throughout the entire weekend.
2018 was the 30th anniversary of Camp Beat It. To celebrate I created a special graphic. The sun is a new day, the trees are the outdoors where most of the time is spent at the camp, the water is the beautiful lake that the site looks out onto, and the fireworks which are a magical Camp Beat It tradition.
The graphic was featured on the T-shirts of camp buddies, kids, and parents. The T-shirts were worn all throughout the weekend and I have even seen them sported after the fact.
